How to Help

Help us to help others

Alsager Community Support (ACS) is a volunteer organisation working to make local lives better since 2015.

We’re here for anyone who needs support. Please come and ask us for anything - we help with a wide range of issues, big or small.

Here you’ll see the how we support our local community, the stories behind it, and the ways you can be part of it. Whether you’ve come to seek advice, to lend a hand, or to donate, your part of a community that’s bigger than any one of us.

How We Help

Practical help with filling in forms, making phone calls, applying for benefits, or searching online.

Information and advice on a wide range of issues, including welfare, benefits, housing and health - with signposting to specialist services when needed.

Cost of living support, such as budgeting guidance, crisis grants, and tips for finding cheaper deals.

Befriending and Shopping Support including face to face befriending and shopping help for those feeling isolated.

Transport to Medical appointments if you have no other way to get there.

Transport to the local Lunch Club, providing an opportunity to meet new people.

Digital support, from setting up email accounts and phones to navigating online services.

Uniform Scheme, preowned children’s school wear.

Who We Help

ACS provides a free and confidential service for anyone in need in Alsager, Scholar Green, Church Lawton, Rode Heath, Oakhanger and Mow Cop.

Why It Matters

We know tough times hit home - rising bills, vulnerability, isolation all add up. We believe nobody should face those on their own. Our volunteers spend their time making sure people get the help they need: whether that’s someone to talk to, practical help, or knowing where to turn next.

Emergency Information

If you are in need of emergency help, in the first instance please call upon someone you already know and trust – maybe a relative, friend or neighbour. If you cannot find anyone to help you, ring us on 01270 876605. Our experienced volunteers man the phone lines Monday to Friday from 9.30am-12.30pm and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1pm – 4pm, and will do their very best to help you.
